Visiting the Adventure Park

The Adventure Park at Sandy Spring School is the biggest aerial forest ropes park in the country.  The 5-acre park is suitable for adults and children ages 5 and up and offers 15 different courses of varying difficulty levels.  Climbers get to choose their own routes from platform to platform, and several staffers are stationed on the ground below to offer guidance if needed.

The park, based on similar ones in Switzerland, opened in 2010 and has quickly become an incredibly popular attraction, with over 200 visitors on the weekends.  Many parents like that the park offers a place where kids have an amazing time without the use of electronics or motors.

Special Activities

In 2013, the park opened The Labyrinth, a brand new course for children ages 5 to 10 that is complete with over 40 elements that let kids climb, explore, and cross inter-connected bridges.

In addition, the park recently opened The Monkey Grove, which offers a brand new way of climbing trees that’s similar to wall climbing. And, the Adventure Park also offers special events like Glow in the Park, a nighttime activity where climbers are treated to live music, glow sticks, and face painting.
