Wood End SanctuaryChevy Chase is a town in Montgomery County, Maryland. It is a primary residential community with a fashionable shopping district called Friendship Heights. It contains several malls, retail shops and fine dining restaurants. The town also houses the National 4-H Center. Places to Visit

Outdoor enthusiasts will surely love the Capital-Crescent Trail which goes along the deserted Georgetown Branch of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad line. Traversed by more than one million walkers, joggers and cyclists each year, the 11-mile track has a cemented portion from Georgetown to Bethesda.  Chevy Chase is nearby Rock Creek Park. This recreational area is so far the biggest park within city limits in the entire United States. You can go hiking and horseback riding, play soccer and baseball, or simply enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Naturalists can visit Wood End Sanctuary. It is a sprawling 40-acre nature haven along Jones Mill Road in Chevy Chase. The Audubon Naturalist Society offers bird walks and regular events such as plant clinics to guests. The Wells Family donated this historical destination to the society in 1968. Meanwhile, Candy Cane City provides 16 acres of facilities for outdoor sports lovers who want to play baseball, softball, football, and tennis.

Shopping & Dining Hub

Several small shopping centers provide a pleasant atmosphere in Chevy Chase. There is an outdated barber shop, a homely place for coffee and subsequently looking around a curio store, and neighborhood grocery. You can expect easy parking and minimal queues. Between Manor Road and Connecticut Avenue lies Chevy Chase Supermarket. It is a family owned and managed enterprise that started in 1958. Service is known to be very friendly. Right beside the supermarket is a pharmacy, hair salon, huge hardware outlet, apparel store and Italian deli that sell mouth-watering sandwiches. A yearly event since 1996 is Dumpster Day in which residents of Chevy Chase can sell old belongings in a 40 cubic yard dumpster every month of June.  Relish your stay at Chevy Chase.
